MTB Riders 'But First, Coffee' - Ethiopian Single Origin - 250g
Organic Ethiopian from Mustefa Abakeno Lot 14 - Elias Shifa...
Our latest Ethiopian coffee is filled with contrasting notes, from apple and berries to toffee sweetness and a little peppery spice. All our coffees in this Batch No. 3 were chosen for their sense of community, as we venture out of lockdown, the ability to meet others and return to something like our normal adventures is echoed in the coffee and the farms they come from.
This micro-lot is grown by a neighbour of Mustafa Abakeno called Elias Shifa (Mustafa was the farmer of our recent Ethiopian, Forest Brew). Mustefa has recently registered as an exporter in order to start selling his coffee directly to buyers, he has also set up a small wet mill where he processes his farms and out growers’ coffee, including this coffee from Elias. The project increases the quality of the coffee as our importers are able to work with Mustefa and his out growers on cherry selection, drying and farm management, covering all aspects of quality best practices.
This coffee from Elias Shifa scores 88 points on the Speciality Coffee Association scale. Any coffee scoring 80 and above is guaranteed to come from ethical sources where human rights and the environment are respected, an element that’s as important to us as the taste. We want coffee to be uncomplicated (it’s there to be enjoyed after all!) so you can brew this any way you like.
