The Lindarets/Wolf Tooth GoatLink is simply the fastest route to improved wear and long-term shifting performance on wide-range 1x10 drivetrains using the Shimano Shadow+ Rear derailleurs. The GoatLink re-positions 10 speed Shimano Shadow+ Rear derailleurs to the optimal location when using a Wide Range Cassette or Range Extender Sprocket.
The GoatLink is optimized for use with Wolf Tooth’s 40 and 42 tooth extender sprockets and also with any 11-40t or 11-42t ten-speed wide range cassette or expander sprocket.
Improvements with the GoatLink:*
Free Chain at 11t (effects shifting precision):
Compatible Shimano Shadow+ 10 speed rear derailleurs that have a Direct Mount link (including spacer, if so equipped) or B-pivot knuckle with a thickness of 7.9-8.1mm. Shimano changed to this sometime in 2013. Very early Shadow+ rear derailleurs have a thinner link and are not compatible. Here is how to take that measurement:
Direct Mount-native frames and SRAM rear derailleurs are not supported.
*Due to variations in derailleur hanger geometry, chainstay length, chainring size, B-screw adjustment, and suspension configuration, individual results will vary slightly.

I was having some problems getting my 42 tooth range extender set up, after some research it was suggested to try a goat link. mtbriders actually had it in stock unlike most other places online so I ordered on thursday morning by priority delivery as I needed it for saturday as I was going the lakes with my mates. got a email just after noon to say it had been posted, the part arrived on friday, got it fitted in the evening and it worked a treat! better than a longer b screw for sure. thanks, you made my weekend!!
Perfect! I made the mistake of buying a really cheap ms3 cassette off ebay that didnt come with a bscrew. Ended up buying one from here which helped but I wouldnt get on to the biggest gear, asked for some help on the forum and they said to try a goatlink. after I installed it I can now ue all the gears!
